HSBC Global Asset Management Appoints Senior Hedge Funds Specialist

HSBC Global Asset Management has appointed John Ware as Senior Product Specialist for hedge funds in its Alternatives team. John will be responsible for HSBC Global Asset Management’s established hedge fund product offering and expanding the platform to a larger institutional investor base globally. Based in London, he will report to Steven Ward, Global Head of Alternative Products, HSBC Global Asset Management.

John joins from BlackRock where he was a senior product specialist for BlackRock Alternative Advisors (“BAA”), the firm’s hedge fund solutions platform. Prior to joining BlackRock, he worked in the Ultra High Net Worth client team at Barclays Wealth as a specialist delivering cross-platform solutions, including alternative investment opportunities.

John’s appointment follows the recent hiring of Jorge Huitron and Shantini Nair as Senior Product Specialists for private markets and infrastructure debt respectively.

The HSBC Global Asset Management Alternatives team manages, advises on or oversees USD39.2 billion of assets as of 30 June 2019 across hedge funds, infrastructure equity, private debt, direct real estate and infrastructure debt.

HSBC Global Asset Management is the investment management business of the HSBC Group, which invests on behalf of HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions through both segregated accounts and pooled funds.

One of the main activities of HSBC Global Asset Management is to connect HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in 26 countries and territories, delivering global capabilities with local market insight. As at 30 June 2019, HSBC Global Asset Management managed assets totalling US$503bn on behalf of its clients.
